Richard is a highly skilled and hardworking professional with vast experience in diverse fields of Investment Banking and Insurance (General Business, Life and Health). He has a strong passion that ensures the quality delivery of value for money, services and products to clients. He has more than 18 years’ management experience in insurance business and investment banking.
He has initiated, set-up and implemented various strategies and plans to achieve results. Richard is customer focused and was very instrumental in setting up the Investments, Statistics, Research and Reinsurance departments at Star Assurance Limited. Notable amongst them is the set-up of the Default Insurance Program (DIP) – an IATA affiliated program in Ghana for Star Assurance. These were aimed at implementing new ways of improving productivity, minimizing risks of financial loss and analysing statistical insurance data for better decision making and clients’ satisfaction.
He is enthusiastic and puts his knowledge to excellent application in profit oriented projects. As a Business Developer, he has an excellent track record of setting up ESICH Life Assurance Company Limited and growing it to become a strong contender in the Life Assurance industry in Ghana from 2013 to 2016.
Richard believes that the success of a business depends on a well laid out structures, systems and processes. He has therefore pioneered the introduction of effective systems and processes throughout his career in the Insurance industry. He leads with integrity and ensures that claims are processed in a timely manner and resolves issues that arise during claim processing.
He has superior interpersonal skills and is capable of resolving multiple and complex (human resource and operational) issues and motivating staff to achieve peak performance. In all the various senior positions he has held over the years, Richard has demonstrated a deep understanding of the human capital of an organization and worked to achieve results through people’s management and teamwork. He has proven to be an excellent performer in building winning teams and structures.
Richard also consulted for and managed as the Chief Executive Officer of Kaiser Global Health Limited. His major responsibility was to ensure that Kaiser Global Health Limited adheres to its Corporate Governance Systems, increases its market share and becomes a profitable company. His consultancy also extended to IBS Consulting Alliance, a management consulting firm, as a Consulting Partner.
Richard is now the Managing Director of Shield Insurance Brokers and Risk Management Company Limited.
Kwame Amponsah Dwamena has a BSc. Administration (Insurance Option) form the University of Ghana Business School, holds a Diploma in Insurance (Dip. CII) from Chartered Institute of London (CII), UK and Member of the same Institute. He had his stints with Glico General Company Limited and Standard Chartered Bank before joining Shield Insurance Brokers and Risk Management Company Ltd.
Kwame is well versed in the insurance industry with over 9 years of experience. Before he became the General Manager, he was the Assistant General Manager and manages the general operations and marketing lines of Shield Insurance Brokers.
He has rich experience in risk management as far as the Energy sector is concerned and has attended various courses organized by the National Insurance Commission, Ghana Insurance Brokers Association and various international organisations.
He also serves as a principal officer for Shield Insurance Brokers and is currently pursuing a Master’s programme in marketing from University of Ghana Business School, Legon
Ato Baiden is an experienced insurance and risk management specialist with comprehensive skills in insurance operations management including product development, marketing, underwriting, claims, reinsurance, and people management. He is a Chartered Insurer with over 17 years of working experience that cut across the whole value chain of the insurance operations, especially in the areas of life, health insurance and pensions.
Ato Baiden previous roles as head of Operations and or Underwriting for both Donewell Life and ESICH Life involved understanding clients’ needs and developing appropriate and economic solutions that delight clients. It involved interaction and discussion with key executives both at the public and private sectors.
He is a strong advocate for Business Process Analysis and Internal Control systems, including compliance to industry standards and regulations. Ato Baiden holds an Executive Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance Option, from the University of Ghana and a Diploma in Insurance & Risk Management from the West African Insurance Institute (WAII), The Gambia.
Emmanuel Nyantakyi Boadu is Chartered Insurer with 9 years working experience in the insurance industry. His area of expertise spans across Risk Management, Insurance Underwriting, Reinsurance, Sales and claims management. He has strong communication skills and proven track record of negotiating claims on behalf of clients with insurers. He is adept at risk assessment, claims administration and business development. He is analytical, thorough, ethical, driven and motivated. Emmanuel’s demonstrated diligence, diversity, exemplary job performance and concern for excellence are assets which I believe would benefit any organisation.
Emmanuel, as part of his passion to offer the best financial advice to his clients has driven him to pursue programmes in accountancy and is currently at Part 1, ICA, Ghana. He also holds a Diploma in French as well.
Proficient executive assistant with experience in supporting senior business associates in corporate organisations with extensive experience in supporting directors and managers across the organisation; Bel organised, efficient and able to deliver consistently excellent results in challenging and pressurized work environments. She is well versed in the creation of internal communication and external professional documents and also able to liaise with all levels of staff and clients.
Bel holds BSc Accounting from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and Diploma in Dance Studies from University of Ghana, Legon.
Bel had held Senior management roles in New Season Restaurant and Neopower Consultancy and Engineering Solutions among others.

Gloria Ocran is an Executive Director and the Board Secretary of our company, Shield Insurance Brokers Limited one of the leading Insurance Broking and Risk Management companies in Ghana. She is a Chartered Banker with strong analytical background and vested interest in Service Marketing and is in charge of Finance and administration. Until recently, she has held the position of the Chief Executive Officer at Shield Microfinance Co. Ltd., from 2013.
Prior to joining the Shield Group, Gloria worked with the now Universal Merchant Bank as a Relationship Manager at their Corporate Banking Department and was responsible for the credit and general portfolio management of some key accounts in the Manufacturing, Trading and Commerce Unit for 5 years. She was then transferred to the Bank’s Treasury Department to head the Sales team.
She joined Universal Merchant Bank from the now GCB Bank Ltd., where she worked also, as a Relationship Manager for three years and as a Management Trainee for two years at their Banking Operations Department (Branch).Gloria has rich and broad experience in Management, Banking and Service Marketing.
She is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Ghana. She also holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Ghana Business School and BSc. Agriculture from the University of Cape Coast. She is currently a doctoral student in Business Administration with the Nobel International Business School, affiliated with Swiss Business School, Switzerland and undertaking a study in Student Loan Schemes.
She has attended several courses in Management, Banking and Service Marketing in Ghana. She has also participated in management and business innovation programs at the Harvard University, Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A. and Swiss Business School, Switzerland respectively.

Ms. Dovi is a Strategic Communication Expert with a special focus on development communications. She leads a multimedia production and communication company registered in Ghana since 2006, developing and implementing strategic communication campaigns for local and international entities.
Since January 2019, she has been working on a European Union funded project, Ghana Employment and Social Protection (GESP) Programme, as an independent Communication Consultant. She developed Communication and Visibility Strategy for the Technical Assistance project, which is providing support to the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, to implement Ghana’s Social Protection Policy.
She is currently providing support to the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations also a beneficiary of the GESP project, to better communicate the operations and services of the Ministry and its agencies, to ensure effective implementation of the Ghana National Employment Policy.
Ms. Dovi serves on the governing board of the state-owned Management Development and Productivity Institute (MDPI), a professional training institute, engaged in providing career development training for public servants. She is also a board member of Shield Insurance Brokers, a privately owned insurance brokerage company.
She is very passionate about Africa development issues, with particular interest in gender equity and inclusion, health care and education access as well as women’s leadership and economic empowerment.
Ms. Dovi founded Nuseli Organisation, a non-profit entity, focused on supporting girls’ education through mentoring, capacity building and provision of education materials to deprived schools.In 2015, Ms. Dovi founded www.sheleadsafricacom, using her expertise in media to give a voice to women who lead.
She has international experience working in Africa, United Kingdom and USA, in a multi-cultural environment. Her 24 years work in Journalism and communication largely focused on Africa development issues. Close to three of those years were with the United Nations Secretariat in New York, where she served at the Public Information Department as Information Officer at the Africa Section; Editor at the Outreach Division as part of the team that managed the UN Secretariat’s internal communications, and at the Office of Human Resources Management, producing and editing content for the UN Secretariat’s online recruitment portal.
She has excellent interpersonal-skills and enjoys building productive relationships with various parties working towards common goals.
She is self-motivated and committed to serving humanity, especially in areas that will help put Africa ahead of the global development curve.
Ms. Dovi holds an MA in International Journalism from Cardiff University in UK.

Emmanuel currently works as the Chief Executive Officer of Wealth Management Limited, a fund management and investment advisory firm. He had earlier on worked as the pioneering Chief Finance Officer with additional HR responsibilities of Vanguard Life Assurance Company Limited for 7years. Other previous careers include Head of the Central Clearing House of Electricity Company of Ghana Ltd., General Manager of South Akim Manufacturing Ltd., Finance & Administrative Manager of Saoud Brothers & Sons Ltd., etc.
He has had splendid working careers in fields such as finance, insurance, manufacturing, micro finance, electricity, business and human resource management sectors of the economy over the past twenty-eight (28) years. He has also played several strategic roles including being a turnaround manager by successfully helping restructure companies in distressed state.
Professionally, he has been engaged on several Financial Management and Institutional Strengthening assignments with other professional associates. He has wealth of experience in consulting and has provided these services to organisations especially in the areas of proper planning and sound financial management. He also assists seasoned international and local Consultants in the performance of their tasks by offering them strategic solutions for the onward utilisation of their clients.
He writes on topical issues of relevance by breaking barriers and venturing into new domains and regularly contributes his quota with his very insightful publications in financial magazines. He was adjudged the 2011 Banking & Finance Personality of the Year at the 3rd at the International Christian Business Excellence Awards.
He presides over the boards of elite enterprises where he brings his rich expertise to bear on their fortunes and is a distinguished member of many prestigious professional and social institutions. Emmanuel is a Chartered Accountant and holder of EMBA from the University of Ghana Business School.
